Easter is blooming!

Easter has come early this year so I had to get moving on a few projects to celebrate!

First up...Do you have Peeps but you don't want to eat them?

Turn them into a centerpiece!

I had extra jelly beans leftover so I decided to make these Easter Topiary Trees

I always save my pickle and olive jars for projects and this was the perfect time to use them! I just spray painted the lids a "Spring Green" and used this tutorial to make the felt flowers

I did mine a little differently- and it took a bit more work.  I bought 3 Styrofoam balls from the craft store and hot glued my felt "Petal leaves" onto it.  It took a little extra time...and felt..but I love how they turned out.

The front door need a spring update too so I pulled out of storage my Cupcake Liner Wreath

A little hot glue and a Styrofoam wreath from the craft store and I was done.  Tutorial here  This blogger used pins but I love my hot glue gun so I used it instead.

Happy Easter!

Love is in the Air!

Valentine's Day is next week and I'll take any excuse to celebrate a day filled with love...and chocolate!

I had a little "Pinspiration" getting my home ready for the holiday thanks to Pinterest

First project:  Rose Felt Topiary

A simple but time consuming project so I just grabbed a chick flick, got cozy and started cutting my roses out of felt.

This turned out to be a bit of a time consuming project and I needed two movies to finish it so a Julia Roberts Marathon it was...After "Runaway Bride" I popped in "Notting Hill" and  ended up cutting too many roses I was so into my movie marathon!  Oh well, I'll save them for another project.

Now I'm ready for Valentine's Day dinner!

Here are the instructions on how to make the Topiary Roses  http://www.oopseydaisyblog.com/2011/02/felt-rose-topiary.html

Next up- Conversation Heart Topiary

I grabbed a bag of conversation hearts, my glue gun, some hot chocolate and another chick flick

Check out the step by step instructions for this easy project: http://blog.tinyprints.com/diy/diy-valentines-day-candy-topiary/

Last year I hung my Valentine's wreath on the door..

but this year I decided to change it up and hang it above the fireplace.  It's always nice to change things up a bit!

Now I just need another project now to continue my chick flick marathon!
