Alan Jackson to play free show in Mineral, Va

Back in October there was a contest to bring Alan Jackson to town for a free show- Hampton Roads didn't win (DOH!) but a small town nearby did- Mineral, Va. Remember the earthquake we felt here in August? Mineral was the epicenter of it. So fans rallied together and voted for Alan to play a show there and the details are now set. He will play May 20th the parking lot behind the town library. Mineral is small SMALL town so hopefully the parking lot will hold enough fans. My Dad lives close by and his house luckily wasn't effected by the earthquake...the only thing that broke was my wedding picture (what the heck?!) so I might just have to visit good 'ol Dad that weekend and slip in a free AJ show while I'm there!

Craig Morgan is heading to Army Wives and Rizzoli and Isles!

If you're an "Army Wives" fan- the show is going to be even better on March 18th because Craig Morgan is making a guest appearance! Fitting since Craig himself was an Army paratrooper before becoming a country star.

Now he's working on getting a guest spot on TNT "Rizzoli and Isles" He told, "Oh, I'm gonna be on the show. I'm there! I just invited myself. I'm a police officer, so it's a no-brainer! I can play a law enforcement officer from the South ... we just made all this up five minutes ago, we wrote all this. [Laughs] We still have to talk to the writers and producers and everything but, we're pretty sure!"

He at least has one of the show's stars, Angie Harmon, in his corner since she appeared in his latest video for "This Ol Boy"

Jerrod Niemann's thanks God after his bus catches fire

Jerrod Niemann's tour bus caught fire late Tuesday night when he was in Chattanooga, TN. Jerrod said, "I thought it was the heater. So I went to the thermostat and it says "Auto Cool". So Lee [Brice] get's off the bus and is like "Dude, that's black smoke. Your bus is on fire"

Jerrod and his group then exited the bus to see the whole back side go ablaze. Soon after, an explosion occurred.

"So we get everyone off - my family and everyone," Niemann said, "and pretty soon we hear this 'Boom!' and we think it's the fuel line, but we look and the whole front windshield was just blown out.

Luckily everyone was out of the bus and there were no injuries.

"This is where I have to say, to anyone that does not believe in God: If we were on the road driving we would've never smelt it The smell would've been going down the road. It would've lit up. I would've been in the back room. My own father - I don't care if I die, but my own father and uncle, this one night on the bus, just, no. So we're so, so thankful."

Trisha Yearwood's new cooking show debuts next month!

Trisha Yearwood is kicking off her own show on the Food Network next month! It will be a daytime series called "Trisha's Southern Kitchen." It's no surprise since Trisha has had a ton of success the last few years with her cookbooks.

"For me, cooking is very connected to my family and friends," Yearwood said in a statement. "Every recipe on the show carries wonderful memories with my loved ones and I can't wait to share my meals, stories and family photos with Food Network viewers."

The show won't just be about the food- Trisha will also give a glimpse into her life with nostalgic stories and visits from family and friends.

The only downside for me...the show is only set to run for six episodes! Set the DVR for the start date- April 14th at 10:30am on the Food Network.

Garth Brooks heads to the Hall of Fame!

Congratulations to Garth Brooks!! He is one of the newest members of the Country Music Hall of Fame. His induction was announced this morning in Nashville and at the ceremony Garth said it was an honor to be named but at the same time he feels guilty when his heroes like Randy Travis, Keith Whitley and Ricky Skaggs have still not been inducted.

"It's kind of odd to be in this room," he said. "You want to be mentioned in the same breath with George Strait and Reba McEntire -- those are the two heroes I grew up with," he said, adding others like Merle Haggard and George Jones.

"Now you're gonna get to be in the same hall with them? Make no mistake, I don't think I'm on that level. But it's pretty cool to have your name listed with them," he said.

Garth will be formally inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame at a private ceremony later this year in Nashville. Grand Ole Opry star Connie Smith is also going into the Hall in the Veterans Era category, and Nashville session piano player Hargus "Pig" Robbins is being inducted in the Recording and/or Touring Musician Active Prior to 1980 category.
