Rascal Flatts Surprise Opry Member Invitation by Vince Gill

I mentioned in yesterday's blog that Rascal Flatts were asked to become member of the Grand Ol Opry- here's the video of the surprise invitation!

Trace Adkins in a new movie...Luke Bryan performs "Country Girl"

I still haven't gotten around to seeing Trace Adkins in the movie "The Lincoln Lawyer" and now it was announced that he's going to be in another movie- I need to get on the ball! Trace has joined the cast of the supernatural thriller The Healer. He plays "The Truck Driver," who transports souls to hell. The film follows twin teenagers and their father on a perilous camp-out in an inescapable forest. On second thought...I'm a wuss when it comes to scary movies so maybe I'll just stick to seeing Trace sing. Production is underway in North Carolina.

Scotty McCreery is going on tour with Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts are invited into the Opry and Glen Campbell performs on Jimmy Kimmel

Scotty McCreery will teamed up with Tim McGraw on Idol and now he's teaming up with another country star...Brad Paisley. Brad surprised Scotty during their show in Raleigh Sunday and asked him to join him on tour next year.

Congratulations to the guys of Rascal Flatts- they are going to be the newest members of the Grand Ol Opry! Last Night Vince Gill surprised Rascal Flatts with an invitation to join the Opry family. "When we first signed our record deal in 1999, our main goal was to play the Grand Ole Opry and someday be members," Gary LeVox said. The induction will take place Oct. 8 during the institution's 86th anniversary weekend.

Glen Campbell recently opened up about his battle with Alzheimer's Disease- he's currently during a farewell tour and stopped by Jimmy Kimmel to play

Rodney Atkins takes his ballcap off in "Take a Backroad"

Woa! Have you ever seen Rodney Atkins without his ball cap on? Me either but if you watch the video for "Take a Back Road" you'll see 3 glimpses of the country star hatless!
So as you could see...he has a full head of hair....wonder why he's been hiding it so long?

Reba and Zac Brown coming to your TV? Plus, go on the road with Billy Currington

Reba McEntire already had a hit show with "Reba" and now she has a new pilot for a sitcom coming to ABC. The show, Malibu Country, is about a singer who divorces her rock star husband after he cheats on her and leaves her almost broke. She moves with her three kids from Nashville to the only asset she has left -- a beach house in Malibu. No word on when the pilot will air.

Speaking of country stars on TV...could Zac Brown be the next reality TV star? In a recent interview he hinted that a show about his family might be in the works. He says, "I think our lives in general are just pretty entertaining, or would be for most people," he said. "Getting that good content together and presenting it in a way ...and putting it out there, there's a lot of that to come." Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens...in the meantime we know we'll see him Sunday October 16th at Farm Bureau Live!

Congrats to new mom Ashton Shepherd! She gave birth to a little girl, Raden Delilah Cunningham, Friday. She joins 5-year old big brother James. Raden was born in Demopolis, AL and weighed 7lbs 7 oz and is 19 ½ inches long. In true Ashton fashion, the proud Mom says, “she’s perty!” Ashton also tweeted the happy news, saying “Hey fans friends and family BABY RADEN IS HERE!!!! :-) im hurting pretty bad but im so happy. She is beautiful! God is truly great!”

Ever wonder what it's like for Trace Adkins and Toby Keith to work together now that Toby is Trace's boss? It's great according to Trace! He just released his second album on Toby Keith's record label Show Dog/Universal, and Trace says, "We're both the kind of guys, we don't beat around the bush. When we have conversations about business stuff, they usually last about 45 seconds. It's a good fit for me."

New Music Alert and Randy Houser's Wedding Picture!

Toby Keith has a new CD coming out next month on the 24th and I just learned that the deluxe edition of "Clancy's Tavern" is going to feature something pretty cool...four live covers! Toby will be doing Waylon Jennings' "High Time (You Quit Your Lowdown Ways), Buck Owens' "Truck Drivin' Man," Three Dog Night's "Shambala" and Chuck Berry's "Memphis." The tracks were recorded live during the 2010 "Incognito Bandito" concert at New York City's Fillmore.

NBC should just rename themselves Lady A TV for the next week. Lady Antebellum will be all over the peacock network. They're doing the National Anthem before Sunday's (9/11) New York Jets-Dallas Cowboys game. This follows their performance tonight (9/9) at NFL Kickoff 2011 in Green Bay, also televised on NBC. And they're set to make their Saturday Night Live debut Oct. 1 on, yep, NBC. Not done yet...they'll be promoting the release of their new CD Own The Night, hitting stores next Tuesday (9/13), with an appearance on (yes, NBC's) Today Show.

Congratulations to Randy Houser! He got married over the long weekend in a Caribbean ceremony. Randy married Jessa Lee Yantz in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The couple had 20 close friends and family members surrounding them at sunset when they exchanged vows that they wrote themselves.
