"If I can't see them...they can't see me!"

My cat's attempt at hiding from the vet today...first try...wedging himself in between the chair and the wall!

Not normally a lap cat...When I lured him out he buried his face in me...I'm guessing he thinks "if I can't see them, they can't see me"

Toby waltzes on to DWTS, Brad pens a book, Twighlight comes to the ACM awards and more!

Toby Keith is following in Sara Evans' footsteps and heading to Dancing With The a musical guest though. Dang! I would LOVE to see Toby two stepping across that stage :) Toby tweeted yesterday “Just back from spring break w/ family & heard I’m SINGING ON DWTS.” No official word has been released on when he will perform, but the performance was confirmed by Dancing with the Stars host Tom Bergeron.

Reese Witherspoon is no stranger to country music after playing June Carter Cash in "Walk The Line" so it won't be too much of a surprise to see her show up at the ACM Awards next month. She's bringing along a famous face with her though...Reese will be presenting along with her Water For Elephants co-star Robert Pattinson. The awards are on April 3rd.

Brad Paisley is already known as a great singer, songwriter and guitar player and now he can add book author to his list of accomplishments. Brad will publish his first major book, titled The Diary of a Player, with Howard Books. The new book, set to release in May 2011, is a salute to the guitar gods of country, blues, and rock & roll who have shaped his life. The Diary of a Player is the very personal story of how Brad became who he is today.

Is Cher really going country? Is Sara using a surrogate? Read below to find the answers and more!

Keith Urban will perform his new single, "Without You," on NBC's Tonight Show With Jay Leno on Wednesday and on the Ellen DeGeneres Show next Monday.

Next week look for Dierks Bentley to make the talk show rounds. He will debut “Am I The Only One” on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno next Tues., March 29th. He will also perform the new song the following day on CBS’ The Talk and the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards live from Las Vegas on Sun., April 3 where he is nominated for “Album of the Year.” Go Dierks! Don't forget you can see him here at the Norva May 13th details at

No more chaps for Cher? Yesterday I mentioned that Carrie Underwood's producer Mark Bright said he was working on a country album with Cher but a new report today says that's not true. According to, she had a change of heart once she got into the studio to record. The album she will now be making a dance record.

Sara Evans
should talk to Keith and Nicole! Sara recently said that she wants to have another baby...but not herself. She wants to use a surrogate. She has a total of seven children between herself and new husband Jay. In a recent chat with 99 Country, Sara (who has had three pregnancies) said, “We want a baby together, so bad. We’re planning to. I have to figure out the right time. I despise pregnancy. I am begging Jay to let us hire a surrogate but he’s not comfortable with that.” Sara said she would prefer to have someone close to her carry the baby for her! “I would want it to be somebody I knew, like one of my sisters or a friend,” she said. “Someone I knew I could trust, who wouldn’t run off with my baby.” Evans’ hubby Jay Barker still isn’t feeling the idea as of now.

Can't picture Blake Shelton without his trademark jeans and boots? Well neither can fiance Miranda Lambert so that's what he'll be wearing when they walk down the aisle May 14th! Blake says he's just doing as Miranda wishes and that he thinks it's "awesome" that Miranda wants him in more casual and less traditional attire when they exchange vows.

Blake is co-hosting the ACMs next month with Reba but the one person he's not asking for hosting advice...friend Trace Adkins. Trace of course hosted the American Country Awards back in December but when asked if he would hit his friend up for tips Blake told, "God no, Trace sucks. Trace just comes across as if he’s gonna whip everyone’s ass if they don’t laugh at his jokes." Funny...and true! Read the rest of Blake ripping on Trace here.

Have you seen the facebook posts encouraging everyone to wear red on Fridays to support our troops? Well the King of Country is on board and he wants all his fans to follow suit. George Strait says, “We are going to wear red shirts to every Friday’s tour date and we encourage the fans to do the same. I want to see a building full of red shirts if possible.” For more information visit

Rascal Flatts golfing in VB? Sugarland on Idol, Eddie Montgomery's lucky accident and more!

I'm not a golfer but I may just have to grab some clubs when Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker and Justin Moore come to town this summer because according to Justin they play golf in every town they go to. "I play golf on the road probably about every day,” Moore tells Taste of Country. “The Brad [Paisley] tour was great last year because Darius [Rucker] is like me … he has to play every day. So me and him played just about every day over the summer. Going out with Rascal Flatts, I hear they golf a lot, too. I was talking to Darius, because he had been out with Rascal Flatts, he said, ‘Dude, don’t worry. You’ll have a good time. It’s a good golf tour!’ That’s how we base our tours on: if they’re good golf tours or not!” I'll be looking for you, Justin, at my favorite golfing spot...Jungle Golf at the Oceanfront. That is the golf they mean, right?!

Normally I boycott Idol's results show- who needs to watch Ryan Seacrest stall for an hour when you can just fast forward to the end to find out who's going home but this week I'm gonna have to stick it out because Sugarland is performing! Jennifer and Christian will perform on Idol's results show Thursday night.

Many have tried it...few have succeeded. I'm talking about pop stars going country. Jessica Simpson, Jewel and Darius Rucker are the latest stars that come to mind who have tried their hand at a country career and out of the 3 Darius is the only one going strong but Cher might be the latest to crossover! Rumor has it that she's working with Nashville-based producer Mark Bright, best known for producing Carrie Underwood's records, and her next album will reportedly have a pop-country flavor. Knowing Cher the album cover will at least be interesting...I'm guessing chaps and a cowboy hat HAVE to be involved!

Brad Paisley's new song "Old Alabama" pays homage to country mega group Alabama and Brad says it blew his mind to have the guys come play with him..."We were writing a song that mentions a few things and realized that the perfect bridge for the song is the bridge from 'Mountain Music.' And so I contacted [Alabama member] Randy Owen and asked if he wanted to write it with us, and then got those guys back together. Instead of sampling a piece of 'Mountain Music,' I had those guys come in the studio and record it. It was one of the most mind-blowing experiences of my life." Brad admits he was more than a little starstruck when he hung out in the studio with the legendary band. "That's the biggest group in the history of country music!" he gushes.

Every artist has the one that got away- a song they wished they had recorded or an album cut that should've been a single but Trace Adkins says that's been a common theme throughout his career..."I think probably the thing I've sucked at the most in my career has been picking singles. I've cut songs that were as big as hits as anyone else in this business has had but they've never been singles. I've got hits all over the albums that I have in my repertoire. I've had a bad track record picking singles."

Talk about a lucky accident! Montgomery Gentry's Eddie Montgomery was fortunate to receive an early diagnosis of cancer. But he may have never known if his son hadn't gotten into an accident. "My son had a four-wheeler wreck and trashed his shoulder in three places, so he had to go to a bone specialist," Eddie tells Country Weekly. "I'd been trying to exercise, get back to losing weight again, and was there talking to the bone specialist telling him how I'd been hurting in my hip." After the X-Ray Eddie states. "He pulled me to the side, away from my son and said, 'I don't know about your hip, but you need to go to a prostate doctor immediately, because I see a shadow there,'" Eddie recalls. Eddie was pronounced cancer-free in January after undergoing successful robotic surgery in December.

Taylor and Trace in the movies...The Band Perry and Eric Church behind the scenes!

Taylor Swift will be heard...but not seen in a new movie. That's because it's animated! Taylor will be a voice in the new animated film Dr. Seuss' The Lorax -- the story of Ted, a young boy trying to win the girl of his dreams. Taylor will voice the part of Audrey, the object of Ted's affection. The movie also features the voices of Zac Efron as Ted and Danny DeVito as the Lorax. Ed Helms, Betty White and Rob Riggle will also be heard

Being a country star had nothing to do with Trace Adkins' landing his role as the leader of a biker gang in the movie The Lincoln Lawyer. The director told him he got the role because of his audition -- in fact, he had no idea who Trace was. Trace says, "I thought I was a bigger deal than that, but I guess not." The Lincoln Lawyer hits theaters today.

Tim McGraw helps a wounded soldier and more!

I love a good heartwarming story and Tim McGraw delivered the goods today! The country superstar recently posed a reporter in order to surprise a wounded solider. Jared LaDuke lost a leg in an insurgent attack. Following numerous skin grafts and 20 surgeries, Operation Homefront -- an organization that provides emergency financial assistance to service members and their families -- arranged for temporary housing for Jared and his family in San Antonio, Texas. When the young family arrived at their new apartment, they were under the impression that a reporter from Operation Homefront would be there to talk about their experience. Instead it was Tim, who welcomed them to a newly furnished apartment, complete with a room full of Thomas the Tank toys for Jared's 2-year-old son, Talon. "When we walked in, the whole apartment is fully furnished with brand new stuff ... I was in shock," the soldier tells CMT. "Then Tim McGraw walks in a few minutes later. Like, as if a furnished apartment ain't enough? It was so surreal." Recently, the family received yet another surprise from Tim: a box full of even more Thomas the Tank Engine trains and tracks along with a note that read, "It was a real pleasure getting to meet you, Talon! Sincerely, Tim McGraw."

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are going up against each other next month for the ACM award for Video of the Year. Miranda says, “No matter what it is – awards or No. 1′s, skeet shooting or fishing – there’s always good, friendly competition between us. Sometimes it’s not so friendly. ” Miranda also told People mag that Blake is “really excited about co-hosting the ACM Awards with Reba." “I’m not nervous for him,” she said. “I’m nervous for Reba and the audience. You don’t have any idea what he might say and it’s a live show. They definitely need that five second delay.”

Even famous Dads can't get Justin Beiber to come to their kid's birthday party. Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts says he may be “in the running for dad of the year” now that his two young daughters, 10-year-old Brittany and 6-year old Brooklyn, got to hang out with Biebs behind the scenes of their ABC Special recently. But when Gary’s eldest daughter had only one request for her tenth birthday, saying, “Daddy, can Justin Bieber come to my birthday party?” No one in Rascal Flatts knew him back then, so, as LeVox tells PEOPLE, “We got her this cardboard cutout of him.” (side note- Eagle's sister station Hot 100.5 has one of those Beiber cut outs and it freaks me out everytime I walk by their studio!)
Gary says when his girls finally met Justin, “they flipped out — Brittany ended up singing one of his songs to him. He was hugging them and was so sweet to them.”
Gary also has a confession to make publicly: “I’ve even got a low-grade Bieber fever.” There should be a doctor out there somewhere to help with that :)

First Gwyneth Paltrow played a country singer now is Jennifer Aniston following in her footsteps? According to USA Today, Jennifer is gearing up for a new fact-based movie role set in the 1940s, where Aniston will portray a member of the Goree Girls — an all-female country music band formed in a Texas prison. The actress, who is currently in Mexico City promoting her new fragrance line, describes the Goree Girls as “sort of the Dixie Chicks of their time.” The movie is based on real events that took place in Goree Prison. The eight singers in the band go on to be embraced by the public and were eventually pardoned of their crimes. It is rumored that Aniston will co-produce the musical project with big names such as Kelly Rowland, Pam Tillis and Ellen Pompeo.

Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley and brother Josh Kelley "Georgia Clay" almost had a joint musical path instead of their own separate ones. When they were younger The Kelley brothers caught the attention of the Godfather of Soul, James Brown, and his manager, Larry Friday. "We were too young," Josh says, "We were like 14. It was ridiculous." According to Josh, Larry Friday enticed the boys with alcohol. "We're going to New York," Larry promised. "You're going to do a big CD release party. All the finest girls in the world are going to be there. Champagne!" Luckily, their Dad stopped it from going any further and the guys grew up to be successful on their own.

Rascal Flatts!

Don't forget to set the DVR if you're heading out Saturday night for Rascal Flatt's ABC Special! It airs at 9pm with special guests Justin Beiber and Natasha Beddingfield! Rascal Flatts' lead singer Gary LeVox didn't really have a choice in letting his two young daughters on the set while Justin Bieber was there to shoot their TV special. He says, "I wouldn't have been able to go home." Brittany and Brooklyn even make an appearance in the show with the teen heartthrob.

To get you ready for the ABC special the guys were on GMA yesterday to promote it and play a few songs

Who is Dunn without Brooks? That's the question Ronnie Dunn was asking himself when his wife, Janine, gave him some good advice. He was frustrated because he wasn't sure if he wanted to be like David Alan Coe or Willie Nelson and according to Ronnie, "She said you need to go find Ronnie Dunn. He's in there somewhere." He obviously found him! "Bleed Red" is just what his fans expected. Ronnie's debut solo album will be out in June.

Real life couple Thompson Square are behind the hit "Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not" and they revealed details about their first kiss...sweet until there was a turtle comparison lol! Thompson Square's Keifer and Shawna Thompson told USA Today it happened in his apartment while they were watching TV. Keifer adds that when the time came, he knew it was the right thing to do explaining, "We had that proverbial look into each other's eyes. And she started doing the turtle neck -- you know, started sticking her neck up, lips out, ready to rock." Shawna notes she'd only change one detail in Kiefer's story, saying, "I had the giraffe neck. Giraffe neck's better."

Big scare on Randy Houser's bus today when it caught fire! Randy and his band and crew were preparing for a Charleston, SC concert. Luckily everyone on board were safely evacuated, but their personal belongings and gear were lost to the flames. "I'm pretty sad, but so thankful we all got off safely," Houser says. "That fire burned all through our home on wheels." During the ordeal Randy filmed a little of what went down

Videos Videos!

Ok I was upset that Brad pushed back his CD release til May 24th but now that I know he is taking the time to do a duet with Carrie...I can be more patient! The song is about a husband and wife who are trying to rekindle their romance after years of being together and is called, "Remind Me.”

Wondering what the difference is between touring with Blake Shelton and Tim McGraw? Both have gorgeous blonde wives (or soon to be wife) according to The Band Perry's Reid Perry the difference lies in having to break a sweat. Reid told CMT, “I do know that we have matching tracksuits for the Tim McGraw tour…unlike us, he exercises a bunch. So I think we’ll be wearing out the track suits, going to the gym with him, playing basketball.” He adds, “whereas, on the Blake Shelton tour, we’re totally lazy. Just show up, eat. That’s pretty much all we do.” You'll be able to catch TBP and Tim here at Farm Bureau Live at Virginia Beach Saturday, July 9th..

Check out Thompson Square's late night debut on Leno- they did their hit "Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not?"

Don’t underestimate the country boy.” Check out the full episode

Last season American Idol contestant Crystal Bowersox has gone country! She visited the Grand Ole Opry last week and waved from the side of the stage when it was announced that she was in the house. Then segment host Vince Gill invited her to sing a song. Stunned, Crystal used Vince's guitar to sing "Mine All Mine" -- a song she wrote for her husband. In the middle of the song, still overwhelmed by the experience, she looked up into the balcony and said, "I can't believe where I am." Here's the video of her Opry debut!
