Behind the scenes with Rascal Flatts plus sneak peaks of new music!

Ok this is just TOO funny- watch this video to find out what fitness craze Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts swears by

The Eagles' Don Henley has been spotted in Nashville recording a country album. According to EaglesFan.com, the project is a collection of country classics, and it looks like a few country stars will be making guest appearances. Ronnie Dunn posted on Facebook, "Sang on the new Don Henley record Friday. Don, Alison Krauss and my unqualified self. I was in way over my head in that talent pool."

Ronnie Dunn has been busy- he's been working with Don and he's already embarked on his solo career- he's released a sneak peak of his first single "Bleed Red" on his website RonnieDunn.com. “This song knocked me out from the first listen. I genuinely felt the spirit of the lyrics in my gut. It’s a really big song, and it needed to be sung,” Dunn said. You can purchase the song from digital retailers on February 8th.

Speaking of sneak peaks Verizon Wireless customers can purchase an exclusive Thompson Square three-song EP on the Verizon Wireless media store or through V Cast Music right now. Is Glee going Country? Plus, Darius on Letterman- I've got the video

If you missed Darius Rucker doing his new song "This" on Letterman last week here's the video

Dierks Bentley is coming to the Norva Friday May 13th- get a sneak peak of the tour from Dierks himself here!

Is Glee going all country?! “Glee’s” music supervisor, who chooses the songs, tells Vanity Fair he’s “all for the country episode.” So far, only two country or country cross-over songs have been covered on “Glee” and both were in the first season. Kristin Chenoweth as "April Rhodes" sang Carrie Underwood’s “Last Name.” And, later in the season, Lea Michele as Rachel sang the Miley Cyrus hit, “The Climb.” The music supervisor, P.J. Bloom, says he bets they’ll go country “for real at some point and dedicate an entire episode.” And, he says, quote, “believe me, my boys and girls down in Nashville hammer on me all the time about it. I wanna do them right.” With new cast member Chord Overstreet (Sam) on the show- there's already a country connection. His dad is country songwriter Paul Overstreet who's written BIG hits like Kenny Chesney's 'She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy,' 'When You Say Nothing at All,' recorded by Keith Whitley and later by Alison Krauss, the Judds' 'Love Can Build a Bridge' and Randy Travis' No. 1 hits, 'On the Other Hand' and 'Forever and Ever Amen.' Paul also reached No. 2 as an artist with the 1990 hit, 'Seein' My Father in Me.' Looks like Glee has a lot of songs to choose from right there! Until the country episode comes together though our fix for now will happen Feb 6th-Lady Antebellum is expected to be featured in Glee after the Super Bowl.

In stores today: Joe Nichols "Greatest Hits" CD

Also out today is Wynonna's first novel, Restless Heart. The story is about the "star is born" struggles and triumphs of Destiny Hart, who is on a path of self-discovery grappling with love, loss, success and surrender. Wynonna says, "I wanted to tell a story of a young woman with her life unfolding before her, facing incredible challenges and incredible opportunities, and making good decisions."

Country and football come together

Yeah! I have something to look forward to when my husband makes me watch football this weekend... Martina McBride will belt out the National Anthem and Joe Nichols will perform during halftime at Sunday's AFC Championship game at Heinz Field between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Jets.

Speaking of football and country music coming together- Packers quarterback Aaaron Rogers and some of his teammates were a surprise guest at Brad Paisley's show last night in Green Bay, WI. Aaron Rodgers joined Brad on "I'm Still A Guy" and guard Josh Sitton, tackle Bryan Bulaga, kicker Mason Crosby and other teammates joined Brad onstage during the encore "Alcohol." A youtuber caught it on video- check it out

And one more...Keith Urban will perform songs from his album Get Closer during FOX's Super Bowl pre-game coverage. The festivities air live from Cowboys Stadium in Dallas on February 6th.

First Martina McBride left her longtime record label now Alan Jackson is jumping ship too. Alan is leaving his record label -- Arista Nashville. A statement from the label says the parting is amicable and expresses their thanks for their long relationship. Alan released his first album on Arista in 1990 -- Here In the Real World. While he hasn't announced his plans, it doesn't sound like he's retiring. He says, "What am I going to retire from? I don't hardly do anything now!"

Dierk's car catches fire and it's all Lady A's fault! And more

Congrats to expectant parents Walker Hayes and wife Laney Hayes, who are awaiting the birth of their fourth child. According to Walker, "Pants" is a joke about who is in charge in the couple’s ever-growing household. “She is so much better than me at so many things — for example, parenting our kids — and I will bow down and cower to whatever she says,” he admits on his site. “She does wear the pants and I’m OK with that, as long as I can take them off her.” It looks like he did since another baby is on the way :)

Following last night's Grammy party, Dierks Bentley stopped by a bar to meet Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley and the two watched Bentley's '67 Camaro catch fire! Bentley blamed Kelley for the mishap. Watch a clip Dierks filmed himself explaining what happened. http://yfrog.com/j67esz

Look out for Darius Rucker on Letterman tonight- he's doing his latest song “This”

Baby news for Keith and Nicole!

Big news for Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman! They just announced they are the proud parents to Faith Margaret Kidman Urban who was born December 28th in Nashville by a gestational carrier. Faith Margaret is their biological daughter according to Keith's publicist. The couple issued a statement saying, "Our family is truly blessed, and just so thankful, to have been given the gift of baby Faith Margaret. No words can adequately convey the incredible gratitude that we feel for everyone who was so supportive throughout this process, in particular our gestational carrier." Faith Margaret joins older sister Sunday Rose who is two-and-a-half years old.

Lady Antebellum are back in the studio working on their third album but according to Charles Kelly don't expect anything as good as "Need You Now" He says, "That song will probably, undoubtedly, be the biggest song of our career. We can hopefully have success for 20 years, but we may not ever have the success of that one particular song again. But we might."

Carrie Underwood's movie debut- a sneak peak

The trailer for Soul Surfer, Carrie Underwood's acting debut, is live online. Watch Underwood hanging 10 with "Bethany Hamilton" actress AnnaSophia Robb here, though no dialog is featured. The film hits theaters nationwide April 8.

Speaking of Carrie- seems like not everyone is a fan of her dog Ace. When billy Currington was on tour with Carrie his dog Paco and Ace didn't hit it off. Apparently, Paco didn't understand why Ace wanted to bark when they met.

The first group of performers for the 53rd Grammy Awards has been announced and Miranda Lambert's name is on the list. So far Miranda is the only country artist set to perform.

Blake joins Reba as ACM host! Kellie Pickler wedding details, and more!

Reba McEntire has invited Blake Shelton to co-host this year's ACM Awards with her. Blake says he's humbled by the invitation. "She is not only a mentor to me but a true friend. She continually supports other artists, which is a testament really to her beauty and talent." Blake is a little apprehensive though about the gig. He says, “Yeah, I’m always nervous. You know, I do a lot better when somebody turns on the camera and just says, ‘Alright now, just be Blake…whatever that is…’ That’s easy for me. But when I have to read somebody else’s script, or actually read names and things like that, that’s when I start screwing up.” Somehow I doubt he'll mess up but either way it'll be fun to watch! The Academy of Country Music Awards airs April 3rd on CBS.

Kellie Pickler
eloped on New Years Day and she says the reason they put the brakes on their plans for a big, glamorous wedding was because they started losing sight of the real meaning of a marriage. Kellie tells People.com, "We didn't have anything but us and God and our minister and I can't think of a word that can quite describe how perfect it was."

Tim McGraw used to drunk dial his wife Faith but when he started slurring in his text message to her he knew it was time to quit. Tim says he thought that texting (rather than calling) would cover up his drinking, but he was wrong. “I only learned how to text because back when I was drinking, I would get in trouble when I called my wife — she’d find out I was drinking,” McGraw tells On the Red Carpet. “Then I started slurring my texts and I figured, ‘Hell, I’ve got to quit drinking. That’s the only thing that’s going to work.’ And Skype, thank God, nobody knew anything about Skype back then. I’d have never stayed out of trouble.”

Speaking of Faith- if you missed her on Jimmy Fallon last night attacking a snowman- here's the video (skip ahead to marker 24:52 for Faith's interview and 32:47 for the snowman attack)

Luke Bryan has started dry cleaning his t-shirts! Sounds odd but he says there's a good reason behind it, "Now, I would get a nice $80 t-shirt, and it would come back about four sizes too small. And I realize I'm on stage and my belly button's almost hanging out. I look like Shania Twain up there. So, we've started dry cleaning the nice, designer t-shirts."

Before you come out to dance at The Eagle's Nest- you can practice your moves at home. Country Dance is coming to WII this spring. In Country Dance, players use the Wii remote to dance along to more than 25 hit country songs and earn points based on how well you’ve danced. Some of the songs included are: Cowboy Casanova, Water, Stuck Like Glue, Honky Tonk Badonkadonk, Chicken Fried and more!

Tube Check! Jewel is expecting and did Britney rip off a country song?

Jewel and Ty Murray are expecting their first child later this year! The couple have been trying to conceive for two years and Jewel is now in her second trimester of pregnancy. “We’re so excited to be expecting our first baby,” Murray told People magazine. “We always knew we wanted to have a child, and this time in our lives feels right.” Of her pregnancy, Jewel adds “I’m trying to be in the moment and really enjoy my pregnancy. I feel very lucky.” Appropriately, Jewel is currently working on a children’s album.

Tube Check for tonight! Faith Hill will be on 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,'on NBC.
Faith has lots to talk about, including her new flower line and her song from the 'Country Strong' soundtrack, 'Give In to Me.'

Over on CBS Blake Shelton will perform on the 'Late Show With David Letterman,'

I also just heard that The Randy Rogers Band will be on Leno Friday night!

Also coming up- The Band Perry will Laugh, Dance and Play for Ellen Degenerus on January 27th followed by a visit to the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on January 28th.

Britney Spears' new song was leaked this week and for country fans it might sound a little familar. After giving the pop star’s new single a listen, the Bellamy Brothers found themselves asking, “Didn’t we already do that?” “Back in 1979, I wrote a little song called ‘If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body, Would You Hold It Against Me,’” recalls David Bellamy. “That little song went #1 and has since become one of the defining songs of our career. If you listen to the lyrics of Britney Spears’ new single, ‘Hold It Against Me,’ you’ll find some major similarities.” The brothers picked up on the news when their YouTube.com video for “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body, Would You Hold It Against Me” was up 270,000 views, virtually overnight. In addition, several visitors on the PerezHilton.com and EW.com discussion boards began crying foul, leaving comments like “Bellamy Brothers rip-off” and “the Bellamy Brothers used the same lyrical hook in 1979.” “Howard and I have no personal beef with Britney. She’s a talented gal. But professionally, well, in all honesty, we feel completely ripped off. Where’s the originality?” says David Bellamy.
Howard Bellamy comments, “Hey Brit… If I said you ripped off our song, would you hold it against me? Thanks.”

ACM Top New Vocal Duo nominee the
JaneDear Girls ("Wildflower) will showcase music from their forthcoming self-titled debut album at Nashville’s 12th and Porter. The full-band performance will include a live stream event titled “Live in Nashville: the JaneDear girls” online on CMT.com beginning at 7:00 PM TOMORROW, Jan 13th.

What country singer can't sing in front of people anymore?! Read the details...

Well this is no fun! Taylor has promised to not write a song about Jake Gyllenhaal and their relationship. This is according to Showbizspy.com “Jake is very uncomfortable with having his private life in the media which was one of the reasons he and Taylor didn’t work out,” explains a source close to the actor.
“He and Taylor remain close friends and she has promised nothing from their relationship is going to end up in a song. She’s grown up a lot in the last year and understands that some things are not for her fans.” I hope this source is wrong- the fun part of Taylor's songs is figuring out who they are about!

Someone who has decided to open up about her personal life and it's affect on her career- Shania Twain. According to the Toronto Sun, Shania Twain hasn’t revived her music career because she lost her voice and confidence. The reality of her marriage’s betrayals had left Shania bitter and without the passion or fire to get back into her music. Her new show on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) will debut in April. Why Not? will chronicle Shania’s journey of finding her passion for music again by networking and banding together with people who’ve gone through similar losses. “I have lost my ability to express myself and my ability to sing… For some reason, I’m not comfortable singing in front of people anymore. “I was feeling more pressure from my career, the bigger it got. I felt the pressure to be better and better all the time. It just affected me. I was slowly losing my voice and slowly losing my confidence… My marriage was slowly breaking down too. Shania compares losing her marriage to a death. “I really lost my sense of trust, compassion, honesty… I was really getting quite obsessive about my own pain and my struggle and I just had to snap out of it.
“On this tour (for TV series)… I wanna talk to people that have been through big disappointments, big emotional crises, deep life struggles and I will learn something from that… I will be inspired by other people.”

Wow- as if everyone doesn't want to duet with Alan Jackson- after the gift he gave Zac Brown for including him on the song "As She's Walking Away" others are going to be calling to get Alan on their songs! AJ Jackson surprised Zac with a vintage 1966 Cadillac El Dorado convertible backstage before Zac's sold-out show in Nashville last week. The car was a thank you to Zac and the band for including him on their hit single "As She's Walking Away," which Alan sang with them at the show. Alan says, "I think Zac is one of the coolest new talents to come along, and he's a Georgia boy like me. It was an honor to be on his record." And Zac, who was thrilled with the gift, has promised to "pay it forward."

Well this shouldn't be too surprising- Taylor Swift is bringing in some big bucks! She made the cut on Forbes list of Hollywood's 20 Highest-Earning of 2010. With an estimated earning last year of $45 million, Taylor came in at No. 19, only slightly edging out TV court-show host Judge Judy Sheindlin. Also not too surprising, Oprah Winfrey topped the list, with an estimated earning of $315 million.

The Judds have a brand-new reality TV show on Oprah Winfrey's new network, OWN reveal they almost had an entirely different kind of television experience. "We were offered the VH1 slot after 'The Osbournes,'" Wynonna told GAC. "I was like, 'I'd rather have a lobotomy.'" "They offered us so much money," Naomi Judd adds. The Judds say they agreed to doing a show on OWN because of their friendship with and respect for the queen of talk shows. The pair appeared as part of Oprah's farewell season earlier this year, in a much-publicized interview that required both Wy and Naomi to answer tough, personal questions.

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are set to wed in the spring and Blake is leaving most of the planning up to Miranda…but when it comes to the music and entertainment, Blake says “that’s all I cared about.” So, he put in a call to his longtime friend Neal McCoy. “I don’t get to see other artists much except at festivals or fairs,” Neal tells Country Weekly. “But Blake is a good friend of mine and we played a show together in Oregon this year. Blake reminds me of myself, he’s a little goofy — he’s a lot goof — actually, and he’s really funny. He and Miranda pulled up chairs to the side of the stage in Oregon, and I guess they were kind of blown away by the spontaneity and goofiness of my show, so they asked me to play their wedding reception. They wanted to pay me, and I told them, of course you don’t have to pay me, that’ll be an honor to play it, and I’m sure it will be really fun and a who’s-who kind of thing with all the people attending.”
