Tim McGraw helps a wounded soldier and more!

I love a good heartwarming story and Tim McGraw delivered the goods today! The country superstar recently posed a reporter in order to surprise a wounded solider. Jared LaDuke lost a leg in an insurgent attack. Following numerous skin grafts and 20 surgeries, Operation Homefront -- an organization that provides emergency financial assistance to service members and their families -- arranged for temporary housing for Jared and his family in San Antonio, Texas. When the young family arrived at their new apartment, they were under the impression that a reporter from Operation Homefront would be there to talk about their experience. Instead it was Tim, who welcomed them to a newly furnished apartment, complete with a room full of Thomas the Tank toys for Jared's 2-year-old son, Talon. "When we walked in, the whole apartment is fully furnished with brand new stuff ... I was in shock," the soldier tells CMT. "Then Tim McGraw walks in a few minutes later. Like, as if a furnished apartment ain't enough? It was so surreal." Recently, the family received yet another surprise from Tim: a box full of even more Thomas the Tank Engine trains and tracks along with a note that read, "It was a real pleasure getting to meet you, Talon! Sincerely, Tim McGraw."

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are going up against each other next month for the ACM award for Video of the Year. Miranda says, “No matter what it is – awards or No. 1′s, skeet shooting or fishing – there’s always good, friendly competition between us. Sometimes it’s not so friendly. ” Miranda also told People mag that Blake is “really excited about co-hosting the ACM Awards with Reba." “I’m not nervous for him,” she said. “I’m nervous for Reba and the audience. You don’t have any idea what he might say and it’s a live show. They definitely need that five second delay.”

Even famous Dads can't get Justin Beiber to come to their kid's birthday party. Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts says he may be “in the running for dad of the year” now that his two young daughters, 10-year-old Brittany and 6-year old Brooklyn, got to hang out with Biebs behind the scenes of their ABC Special recently. But when Gary’s eldest daughter had only one request for her tenth birthday, saying, “Daddy, can Justin Bieber come to my birthday party?” No one in Rascal Flatts knew him back then, so, as LeVox tells PEOPLE, “We got her this cardboard cutout of him.” (side note- Eagle's sister station Hot 100.5 has one of those Beiber cut outs and it freaks me out everytime I walk by their studio!)
Gary says when his girls finally met Justin, “they flipped out — Brittany ended up singing one of his songs to him. He was hugging them and was so sweet to them.”
Gary also has a confession to make publicly: “I’ve even got a low-grade Bieber fever.” There should be a doctor out there somewhere to help with that :)
