Jake Owen's run in with the police, Trace Adkins in the doghouse? And more!

Jake Owen learned his lesson -- don't get smart with the police. On Friday, he was pulled over for speeding. When the cop asked him why he was doing 96 when the speed limit was 70 miles per hour, Jake told him, "If you ain't first, you're last." Needless to say, the cop was not amused and handed him a ticket for $175.

Brad Paisley performed before the Daytona 500 yesterday doing ‘Water’, ‘This Is Country Music’ and ‘Mud On The Tires.’ During one point Brad was presented a guitar from Nascar with the 53rd Daytona 500 Logo on it prior to his pre-race concert. Brad also mentioned, when asked about his win as CMA Entertainer of The Year, that he has yet to receive the CMA ETOTY trophy and stated “I hope they let me have it”

Trace Adkins had an interesting Valentine’s Day surprise this past Monday. A brand new washer and dryer and Trace didn’t even know he bought it. Trace says he came home to find a guy installing a brand-new washer and dryer in his garage Monday....for their dogs! He says, “She got a washer and dryer put in the garage for the dog’s bed. Isn’t that crazy?” Trace approached the man installing the appliances in his garage and asked him what he was doing. The guy’s response: “Your wife wanted me to do this.” When Trace found his wife, he said, “I have washed stuff in a washing machine that would make you throw up! And then the next load, you can wash a tablecloth. It’s a washing machine! That’s what it does. It gets dirty stuff out, flushes it down the thing and then it’s good to go again.’” Considering it was Valentine's Day though I'm betting if his wife didn't get to keep it...Trace would've wound up in the garage with the dogs!

Blake Shelton's latest hit "Who Are You When I'm Not Looking" was almost a hit for someone else...can you picture Joe Nichols singing it? Joe says, "'Who Are You' is one of the mistakes you make along the way; the woulda, coulda, shoulda that has happened, and you just wished things would've been different. When we cut [it], I begged everybody who would listen, I begged for that to be a single, for that to be the first single." Even though Joe felt a bit of disappointment that the song was not a single for him, he's thrilled that it is for his longtime friend. "The one thing I am proud of now is that it's found a home with Blake, and Blake's having some significant success with it," he says. "It's the hit it should've been, and I'm glad he's the guy that cut it and that he's going to have the hit on it. I'm happy for the writers, and I'm happy for Blake. We screwed it up, and hopefully they don't [laughs]."
