Martina McBride showed up at Garth Brooks' recent Nashville concert not to sing...but to sell tshirts! Years ago, Garth took a young unsigned Martina under his wing, and she went out on the road with him to help sell Garth merchandise. So after Martina went to one of Garth’s nine fundraising shows held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Martina recently sent out a social message. "Saw Garth tonight...he's still got it,” Martina wrote. “I even sold a few t-shirts for old time's sake.”

Brad Paisley‘s kids couldn’t be more different from one another. Brad recently said that his oldest son, Huck “is a lot like me. He shares my disposition and focuses on a lot of things.” When it comes to Huck’s younger brother, Jasper, Brad says “Then the second child is the opposite of Huck … which I think happens a lot. In some way he’s becoming my favorite just by the fact that he’s not like me.” I thought parents weren't supposed to admit who their favorite kid was? Brad may have just made Santa's naughty list :)

Need a last minute stocking stuffer? Lady Antebellum has some holiday joy A Merry Little Christmas, a six song EP, exclusively at Target. The album features five holiday favorites as well as the original track “On This Winter’s Night.” Haywood and bandmates Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley “tried to take some of our Christmas memories, and some of the things we remember from the holiday season, and put them into a song. It was definitely a new experience for us; we’d never written a Christmas song, really, before. But it was a lot of fun trying to look at what we do and how we spend the holidays and take that feeling and put it into a song.”

Carrie Underwood got lucky this Christmas and didn't have to fight with her new husband over whose family they should see for the holiday. Carrie and Mike will spend the holiday in Nashville since his team will be in town to play the Nashville Predators on December 23rd. “I’m lucky enough, I don’t have to choose where we’re going to be spending Christmas because Mike plays the [Nashville] Predators on the 23rd,” Carrie told Us magazine. “So, lucky girl! I was kind of bracing myself for that fight.” Since her tour plays up until the 22nd, Carrie won’t have any time to get her Christmas shopping done. She told the mag “it will be presentless,” adding, “He also plays on the 26th, so we’ll be on a plane, I think, on Christmas.”

Trisha Yearwood isn't the only country star who loves to cook- Taylor Swift loves to bake and shares her recipe for the Pumpkin Spice cookies she makes every winter.

* For the cookies:
* 1 cup sugar
* 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
* 2 tablespoons Maple syrup
* 2 eggs
* 1 cup canned pumpkin
* 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
* 1/2 teaspoon ground all spice
* 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
* Pinch ground cloves
* 2 1/2 cups flour
* 2 teaspoons baking powder
* Pinch of salt
* For the frosting:
* 2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese
* 1 cup confectioners sugar
* 1/4 cup milk
* 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
* Zest of one lemon
* For Garnish:
* Whole pecans
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a mixer, fitted with a paddle, cream the sugar and the butter until light and fluffy. Add the maple syrup and eggs. Mix to incorporate. Add the pumpkin and mix to incorporate. Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and cloves. Add the dry ingredients to the batter and mix well. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 10 minutes, or until lightly golden brown around the edges. Cool on racks. When cool, ice with the cream cheese frosting.
For the Frosting: In a mixer, fitted with a paddle, add the cream cheese. Beat until light and fluffy. Beat in the powdered sugar until smooth. Add milk and vanilla. Beat until smooth. If frosting is too thick, thin with a little more milk. Fold in the lemon zest. When cookies are cool spread with some of the frosting. Garnish with a whole pecan.

Garth's Nashville show, John Rich on Fallon and more!

Garth Brooks kicked off the first of nine Nashville flood relief arena shows last night in Nashville and here's a look into what we missed: atwo-hour set, which included appearances by Steve Wariner ("Longneck Bottle," "Some Fool's Never Learn") and wife Trisha Yearwood ("In Another's Eyes," "She's In Love With The Boy," "More Than A Memory"). Other highlights included Brooks' acoustic version of "Unanswered Prayers" and a video montage of flood recovery photos during "We Shall Be Free." Film crews also taped the production, which will be broadcast to military bases worldwide at a later date. There was time for only one encore, which was "Ain't Goin' Down (Til The Sun Comes Up),"

Garth Quotebook: Here are some of the more interesting quotes Garth Brooks made before and during his opening show:
"As a guy, there's always that girl who you can't wait to be with ... and when you get the chance to, it's like over in like two minutes. So, about three songs in, I'm going to be hoarse. It's going to be over. I think I'm going to be spent pretty early because I'm really excited."

"I'm going to pacing around thinking, 'How am I going to get into those pants? How am I going to get in those pants? How am I going to get into those pants?'"

"I love you because you are my buddy, and I hate you because you look the same as you did in the '80s when I first heard your music." — to Steve Wariner

I was flipping through the channels when I got home from work last night and had to stop when I saw John Rich singing with Jimmy Fallon- Here's the video in case you missed it!

Congrats to Josh Turner and wife Jennifer on the birth of their third son Crawford Marion!

The Band Perry on The View- I've got the video and more country music news

Wow- Check out The Band Perry on The View this week- I'll never get sick of this song!

Wondering what big superstars ask Santa for? How about canned vegetables? Yep- that's what Kenny Chesney says he wants. He told a Nashville radio station that his mother agonizes over his Christmas gift every year, so last year he asked for home-canned green beans, and that's what he wants this year, too. If I got that as a gift I'd think I made it onto Santa's naughty list for sure!

April marks the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War, and Rascal Flatts is one of several country acts that will remember that moment in American history by appearing in a mini-series, "Too Appomattox.” The Flatts boys been enlisted to produce the soundtrack and they will be appearing in the mini-series too as soliders! “We‘re not going to be a bass player in the Civil War, or a guitarist and a singer,” Gary LeVox insists.But that doesn’t eliminate other possibilities.
“I‘m going to be a Civil War flutist,” Jay DeMarcus jokes.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw are the stars of the new movie "Country Strong" and Tim was asked if Gwyneth had any help from his wife, Faith Hill, when preparing for her role as a country star. Tim's funny response...“Faith only helped her with the alcoholism and the sex addiction and all those things,” Tim said, smiling. “Other than that, I don’t think she got much from Faith.” The movie opens nationwide Jan. 7.

Yesterday I told you about the demise of a country star's marriage well now Eddie Montgomery's soon to be ex-wife is speaking out. Tracy says that Eddie's cancer diagnosis has nothing to do with her decision to file for divorce. Tracy wrote on her Facebook page, "There are two sides to every story. Despite what is being said, Eddie's cancer had nothing to do with my decision ... It's what the public doesn't know that finalized an extremely difficult decision that I was forced to make."

2 Darius Rucker performances for you! He did "This" on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and "Come Back Song" on Leno the night before
