Kellie Pickler on the CMA red carpet

The always funny Kellie Pickler was Ellen's corespondant for the CMA Awards- check out the video

Backstage quotes from the CMA's last night

Seen and heard onstage and backstage last night at the 44th Annual CMA Awards:
"That's how I like to start the night right there. I can relax and get drunk now." –Blake Shelton during the pre-show after winning Musical Event with Trace Adkins for "Hillbilly Bone."

"Are you guys going to wear your meat suits tonight, at least?" –Brad Paisley, apparently confusing Lady Antebellum with Lady Gaga.

"I'm her evil twin." –Actress Sissy Spacek on her bond with Loretta Lynn.
"You mean I'm the good one?" –Lynn in response.

"Shake it up, CMA!" –Jennifer Nettles interrupting Sugarland's press room Q&A as she saw Blake Shelton win Male Vocalist.

"I told him its time for them to get married and have a kid and see how good that thing sings." Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley on Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert.

"What?!" –Taylor Swift responding to a standing ovation following her performance.

"He didn't die, really, he just retired ... He will rise again, I promise." –Paisley on Joe Galante.

"They never said no." –Jennifer Nettles on producers' response to Sugarland's brainstorming for their "music box" performance.

"I've been working out, but geez." –Miranda Lambert on lugging three trophies around for backstage photos.

"God bless us, every one." –Paisley closing his performance of "This Is Country Music."

As if the night wasn't good enough for Miranda- accepting the Female Vocalist of the Year award from hero Loretta Lynn- another hero gave her a call before the award show...Merle Haggard. Miranda answered her phone prior to the awards show and, not recognizing the caller, asked who it was. "This is Merle Haggard," came the reply. Lambert responded, "The Merle? This is Miranda Lambert!" Surely chuckling, Haggard said, "I know, I called you!" Beyond his verbal best wishes, Haggard also sent Lambert 37 roses: 27 pink roses in honor of her birthday, nine yellow flowers signifying each of her CMA nominations and one red rose expressly for her.

More Miranda-she will perform during Dec. 1's The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music's Biggest Night. LL Cool J will host the television special, which will mix performances with the announcement of nominees live from Los Angeles' Club Nokia on CBS-TV at 10pm ET.

Oh and if you thought she looked better than ever when accepting her many awards last night- there's a reason. She credits her new size 6 figure to hiring a personal trainer. She tells People magazine, "It's not so much losing weight as toning up, getting rid of the jiggles and wiggles." She says she also gave up pizza for 30 days

Taylor Swift may not have won big at the CMA's last night but she's still a winner. Taylor became the youngest songwriter to win BMI's Songwriter of the Year honors Tuesday night in Nashville. She also received the Song of the Year trophy for the third year in a row -- this year for "You Belong With Me." The event was bittersweet for Taylor, who'd attended the funeral of a young friend on Monday. Other songwriters recognized for their music were Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Sugarland's Kristian Bush, Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood, Luke Bryan and Eric Church.

Celebrate Thanksgiving with Carrie Underwood. She is among the performers scheduled to appear on CBS-TV's The Thanksgiving Day Parade telecast (11/25).

The Lifetime movie Unanswered Prayers, based on the Garth Brooks song of the same title, will premiere on the network Nov. 29. Brooks and Lisa Sanderson executive-produced the film, which follows a happily married father whose life changes when his high school flame returns to town.

Staying up late tomorrow night? Reba will perform on the Late Show With David Letterman (CBS).

Dierks Bentley and Reba on GMA

In case you missed Dierks Bentley and Reba McEntire on GMA the other morning here are the videos for you!

Tuesday, November 9, 2010

Reba, Garth and Tim!

Dierks Bentley better get some sleep tonight because he's gonna be busy tomorrow! He's performing in the morning on ABC’s Good Morning America and then again tomorrow night on The 44th Annual CMA Awards, live from Nashville on ABC.

This should be good...Ellen Degeneres has lined Kellie Pickler up as her red carpet correspondent for Tomorrow’s CMA Awards. Look for the funny clips on Ellen’s Thursday show.

Following the floods in Nashville in May, there were lots of rebuilding projects. This Sunday, Nov. 14, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood and LeAnn Rimes will appear on an episode of 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' focusing on the restoration of the Lighthouse Christian School near Nashville. The episode will be broadcast on ABC at 8pm ET SUNDAY, November 14th. It was moved to the 14th after being originally scheduled by ABC for a November 7th airing

Wow! Reba McEntire's 26th album is in stores today. Reba says she titled the project All the Women I Am because it reflects her many experiences, but she didn't start out with that theme in mind. Reba tells us, "If I had started it with that song and then gone tried to find them, I don't think it could have worked out as perfectly as it did."

Also in stores today is Coal Miner's Daughter: A Tribute to Loretta Lynn. It features Carrie Underwood's version of "You're Looking at Country," Alan Jackson and Lee Ann Womack's cover of "Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man," and Gretchen Wilson's rendition of "Don't Come Home a-Drinking."

Garth Brooks has sold out nine shows -- that's more than 140,000 tickets -- at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena in a fundraising event for the city's flood victims. This makes him the biggest-selling act in Tennessee, a record previously held by Michael Jackson, who sold 72,000 tickets at Knoxville's Neyland Stadium. The nine shows take place over six days starting December 16th and will provide over $3 million for flood relief.

Tim McGraw says his Country Strong co-star Gwyneth Paltrow has made him a better actor. He tells OK magazine, "You just want to play to the level of the person you're playing against... Everybody around her rises when she's in a scene." But unlike Gwyneth, Tim won't be appearing on Glee anytime soon. He says, "I'm not a triple threat. You don't want to see me dancing."

Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney and Gloriana news!

Don't forget it- Jason Aldean is on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno tonight (Friday, Nov. 5th)

If you're not already looking forward to the CMA Awards- this will make you...Brad Paisley is premiering a new song! Brad says, "I'm really excited about my performance because I'm trying something out. I've never done this before ... There's a song that's on the next album that I feel like is going to be really fun to demo [during the CMAs]. It's just like when I take somebody and stick them in the car and say, 'I've got something new to play you.' I get to stick 30 million people in the car essentially and play them something new, which is fun." According to ABC News Radio, the song is titled "This Is Country Music." The CMA's air Wednesday on ABC and you can hear them live on The Eagle too!

Road Trip time! Kenny Chesney has announced the stadium dates for his 2001 Goin' Coastal Tour with co-headliner Zac Brown Band and the closest they are coming to the beach- D.C. The show is at FedEx Field June 6th. Billy Currington and Uncle Kracker will open the show.

Another reason to look forward to the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade- Gloriana will be performing while floating down the streets of New York this year. The parade airs live on NBC starting at 9 a.m.
