Your favorite star's favorite Halloween tricks, treats and costumes

Darius Rucker says he usually dresses up for the holiday. "The year before [last], I was a Star Wars Ninja. My son wants us to dress up together this year. He's going to be Robin, so I have to be Batman. I'm very excited about that. [laughs] But Halloween's big for me, because the kids love it. It's my kids' favorite holiday, so anything they're into, I'm into."

When Blake Shelton was a teen, he and a bunch of friends went out "egging" on Halloween, and they hit the wrong car. "The lights came on, and it was a police officer! He started chasing us. I looked back and saw his flashlight tumbling. [He] tripped trying to chase us down. My buddies went back and started hitting him with eggs. To this day they were never caught ... until now."

Luke Bryan has his ideas of what to dress his two sons, ages two-and-a-half and two-months, for Halloween, but his wife doesn't exactly agree with him. "I put in for Bo to be a fisherman and Tate to be a worm, but I don't know if that'll happen!"

Alan Jackson would take his daughters trick-or-treating when they were younger, and he wasn't always happy with the costumes his wife would pick out for them. He recalls one getup that he truly hated. It was an infant costume that made one of the girls look like a little peapod. "I thought, 'Man, that's awful.' But Denise liked it, and I guess it was cute."

Dierks Bentley has a great time dressing up daughter Evie. "She was Yoda last year, and it was almost too eerily of a resemblance! It's probably not the most flattering picture of her, but she was barely one years old and it was just really funny ... She's not the princess type. She is big into Elmo, though, and maybe [this year] she'll dress up like Elmo [laughs], or maybe I will."

Justin Moore is not a big fan of Halloween. "I absolutely hate Halloween," he says. "Everybody makes fun of me because I despise Halloween, and I don't know why. As a child, I was a very serious child, which makes no sense because I'm never serious now. But I never wanted to dress up as a kid."

Taylor Swift loves Halloween, but she doesn't like the seasonal treat. "I'm not into candy corn. I've never understood it. It's too many different tastes," she says. But Taylor does, however, have a strategy for seeking out the best candy. "You always tried to find that jackpot house with the giant candy bars, like the giant Hershey bars or the giant Reeses."

Lady Antebellum's Dave Haywood had an ingenious costume idea one year, but it nearly landed him in the emergency room. "I was a die for Halloween. I had a big cardboard box that I painted white [with] polka dots. I was walking up this big hill and literally fell back down the entire hill, rolling in this giant cardboard box about 50 feet."

James Otto on his Halloween a few years back."I went as 'tough s---,'" he tells The Boot. "I wore a big feces costume with big tough arms and gold chains like Mr. T. It was incredible." And what did his wife, Amy, think of this? "She went as a one night stand," he recalls with a laugh. "She was a night stand with some change on it, and I think a condom and stuff. It was a funny costume."

Garth is back! Rascal Flatts and Keith news too

Rascal Flatts will be part of the Live on Letterman concert series November 15th. It's being broadcast live from New York, but for those of us in Hapmton Roads, the concert will also be streamed on the CBS website.

Garth is back! He announced today that he is going to do a benefit concert in Nashville. "Yes, we're going to again ask Tennesseans to pull Tennessee out of this," Brooks said during the announcement. "But I'm making the plea to all our families from Ireland, Australia, Germany, all over the world: If [seeing a Garth Brooks show] is a bucket list [item] for you, this is the time to do it. Come here, because our job is to show everyone that Nashville is not only up and running, it's better than it's ever been." Garth and wife Trisha Yearwood discussed the possibility of guest performers. "We're going to ask our usual guys ... it's not unlike us to beg. So, if there are surprises, great. We just don't want to sell a ticket and then [fans are] disappointed. So we'll try to keep quiet and whoever wants can seek us out." Trisha added, "We can confirm that we're going to be there." Ticket information will be announced at noon CT next Wednesday (11/3). Every penny of the $25 ticket price will go to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee for flood relief. Rumor has it that he has also put the venue on hold Dec. 19, 20 and 21 in the eventuality that the first and subsequent dates sell out. A Predators game is scheduled for Dec. 18.

The CMA is staging an ABC-TV takeover throughout November. Sugarland Live Stream, Kenny Chesney on being bald and Dierks on Live with Regis and Kelly!

Monday (10/18) at 9 pm EST fans can log on to to watch Sugarland LIVE from New York’s Best Buy Theater. “I’m a complete geek,” says Sugarland’s Kristian Bush, “and I’ve been dreaming of how awesome it’s going to be to play a show and stream it to people for a long time. Now, you can sit and reach a kid in Sevierville, Tenn., like I used to be, that might not ever get to New York. They’ll be able to see a show like that and have the excitement of it being live and happening right now.” The live stream will also feature interactive elements; fans can tweet in questions for Jennifer and Kristian before the show, vote for the encore song, and change camera angles during the show.

Kenny Chesney had a love-hate relationship with his football helmet in high school. That’s where he’d see evidence he was losing his hair. He told Parade magazine when he was 17 or 18 he’d take his helmet off on the field and he’d see hair in it. Kenny says he’d ask himself “what’s going on?” He says going bald did bother him in college a little bit. But, it doesn’t bother him now. He says friends of his in their 30s and 40s are just starting to lose their hair “and are freaking out.” But, he says he “went through all that in high school.”

Set the DVR for Dierks Bentley...he will be on Live! with Regis and Kelly airing, Oct. 21 where he’ll perform his latest single “Draw Me A Map.”

Got a question for Lady Antebellum? They are going to be answering them in their next Webisode Wednesday. Submit your questions through from now until this Friday, October 15th at Noon CST. The selected questions will be answered in Lady A’s Webisode Wednesday airing on October 20th.

Speaking of questions being answered...Ladies Home Journal caught up with Taylor Swift to get her answers to some interesting and fun questions. Read below for their interview with Taylor…

Why I Called My Album Speak Now…
My songs are like open letters. They say everything I wished I had said when certain people were standing right in front of me. I imagine I will be getting a few text messages from them once the album comes out.

My album in three words…
Diverse. Detailed. Relationship-y. I’m turning relationship into an adjective.

My Writing Process…
I have an app on my iPhone that’s a voice recorder. I’ll be in the middle of a conversation and will literally walk away and record a bridge, a pre-chorus or half of a hook, then go right back to the conversation like nothing happened.

Who I’d Most Like To Collaborate With…
Jay-Z. I know our genres are completely different, but there could be something cool about that.

Now That I Have My Own Place…
I’m most excited about throwing dinner parties and cooking for people. The other night I made this dish with chicken, penne and capers that I am so proud of.

What I Took From My Parents’ House…
Little teacups, a Geisha doll and a crystal ball that looks like a fortuneteller’s. Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve wanted that crystal ball — so my mom gave it to me and I let her keep one of my Grammys.

My Signature Dish…
Caramelized bacon. My Mom and I both make it. It’s really easy to do, but people seem to be wonderstruck by it.

My Favorite Hobby…
Antiquing. At the Tennessee State Fair Grounds, I found a hog carrier that I now use as a table for my record player. And I found a long animal trough that I use to store blankets.

Why I Love Nashville…
When I’d first visit, I was mystified that people talk to you in public, make eye contact on the street and smile at you and wave. Now, I’m addicted to that. I’ve never felt so completely like a town was home as I do here.

What I’ll Do For Beauty…
I really like eyeliner. One time I was waking up on a plane, it had been a long flight and I didn’t have eyeliner — so I used a Sharpie. I file that under my road warrior adventures.

My Make-Up Must-Haves…
CoverGirl has these outlast lip stains that I really like — I have about five in my purse. I’m always throwing my hair around on stage and if I wear sticky lip gloss, my hair gets stuck on my lips — which is a total mess.

How I’ll Celebrate My 21st Birthday…
Maybe I’ll have a glass of wine — but nothing too hardcore for me. I’ve never had the burning desire to drink. I need to be in control of what I say, and if I drank, I’d stress out about saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.

Growing Up On A Christmas Tree Farm…
My Dad always liked to let me think that I was helping. So, when I was 6 he gave me the job of picking the praying mantis pods off of the Christmas trees so that they wouldn’t hatch in people’s houses. I loved it!

On My Life List…
Seeing my album in Starbucks. I really love Starbucks. I go there every day and I just stare longingly at the CDs they sell. I?m so envious.

What I Look For In A Guy…
Someone who loves you for who you are. I like doing cute art projects with glitter, and there have been guys who’ve made me feel like that’s weird. But then there are guys who find it endearing.

Favorite Thanksgiving Tradition…
Eating the marshmallows in the candied yams.

My Hollywood Crush…
Taylor Lautner. It’s always going to be Taylor.

New music in stores this week!
Darius Rucker's Charleston, South Carolina 1966 hits shelves today. The title is a nod to his pal Radney Foster's 1992 Del Rio, Texas 1959 reflecting hometowns and birth years of both artists.
The Band Perry releases their self-titled debut today, but that doesn't mean these newcomers are novices to the business. They've been touring for 15 years, which means that the youngest, Neil, was eight when they started.
• Other projects in stores are The Essential Ronnie Milsap, Miranda Lambert's DVD Revolution: Live By Candlelight and Lady Antebellum's A Merry Little Christmas available exclusively at Target.

Tim McGraw is Country Weekly's Sexiest Man of 2010. And who would know that better than Faith Hill. Faith says, "When I need a pick-me-up, he just hugs me. He gives the best hugs in the world." Also making the list are Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley, Gary Allan, Blake Shelton, Chuck Wicks, Charles Kelley, George Strait, Darius Rucker and Luke Bryan.

Pure Country is back! But with or without George? George Strait was of course the star of the 1992 movie playing singer Dusty Chandler. Now a sequel is in the works called, 'Pure Country 2: The Gift,' and it will have another country singer in the main role this time. Katrina Elam, whose songs have been covered by Carrie Underwood and Reba McEntire. Katrina plays the lead role of an aspiring singer named Bobbie. Concert scenes were shot last year in Nashville. Although CMT reported at the time that George Strait was not present and would have a more limited role in the sequel, the country icon is featured prominently in the new film's trailer. 'Pure Country 2' is coming out October 15.

They may have just wrapped up their Last Rodeo as Brooks and Dunn but Ronnie Dunn is moving quickly to establish his own musical identity. He’s making a solo album. He’s producing it himself and it’s expected to be ready next year. He and Kix Brooks just finished their “goodbye” tour after making music together as a duo for 20 years

With two careers that keep them on the road, Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher haven't had much together time since their July 10 wedding, but the singer says for her, marriage is a perfect fit. "Mike's the missing piece to my puzzle – he's a few pieces," Carrie tells PEOPLE Country in its November issue. "He makes me a better person." Though Carrie admits that winters in her hockey player husband's native Canada can be rough ("I can't do my cute heels in the winter!"), for now, the couple are content to shuttle between their Nashville and Ottawa homes. "It's not like we have office jobs where you can transfer!" she says. "It's not a conventional marriage." Underwood says the marriage is something for which she gives thanks, along with other blessings in her life, like her dog Ace – whom she "missed like crazy" while on her two-week Tahitian honeymoon with Fisher – her faith ("with God, the bad isn't as bad") and her family.

Toby on Leno tonight, LeAnn goes "Blue" again, Taylor crashes a wedding and more!

Toby Keith with promote the release of his new album on The TONIGHT SHOW with Jay Leno Show airing 11:35 ET on NBC tonight.

You’ll have to wait a little longer for LeAnn Rimes' new CD “Lady and Gentlemen.” One of the reasons is that LeAnn is adding a new recording of “Blue,” along with a bonus track. In a video message LeAnn says it’s been 15 years since her original version of “Blue” was released. And, she was 13 at the time. So, she says now that she’s 28, she’ll do it again. She says she’s been in the studio working on “Lady and Gentlemen,” in between her tour dates. And, even though the album is missed the original October 5 release date, she says “the album should be in your hands soon.”

A sneak peak into Taylor Swift's new the title track Taylor crashes a wedding and tries to win back her guy. The song "Speak Now" was released yesterday on iTunes, and it's about the country star sneaking in on an ex-flame's wedding ceremony and imploring him, "Don't say yes, run away now/I'll meet you when you're out, of the church at the back door." The song maintains the same steady tempo as first single "Mine," with Swift quietly beginning the song with the line, "I am not the kind of girl, who should be rudely barging in on a white veil occasion/But you are not the kind of boy, who should be marrying the wrong girl." "Speak Now" also features a gentle guitar solo and a rousing climax in which Swift belts the song's title. The song will be the fourth track on "Speak Now," which will also include "Innocent," the track directed at Kanye West that was previewed at the MTV VMAs last month. "Mine" is currently at No. 11 on the Hot 100 after being released in August

Tim McGraw surprised the kids at a middle school near Nashville this week to talk about the problem of bullying. At the assembly, he encouraged students to be kind to one another, speak up if they see someone being bullied and not to become bullies. Tim, who came to the school at the invitation of his 11-year-old nephew, tells Nashville's Tennesean, "I think it's important for the students to hear. Anything I can do to stop bullying is what I'll do."

Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Reba McEntire, Sugarland and George Strait have been added to the performance lineup for the 44th annual CMA Awards on November 10th. They join Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum and Dierks Bentley, and the Zac Brown Band with Alan Jackson on the bill. The awards will air live from Nashville on ABC.

CMT will honor Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and Zac Brown Band, as the top artists of the year in the new 90-minute special, CMT Arists Of The Year, premiering Friday, December 3. How did they narrow it down to these 5? They were chosen by ranking the top five artists based on the following criteria: sales (physical albums, digital albums, and single downloads); country radio airplay based on spins; concert grosses as a headliner or co-headliner; and activity on (video streams, searches, and artist page views). The rankings were then compiled to identify the leading performers across the four categories cumulatively. Over the past 12 months, Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift and Zac Brown Band have collectively received over 2.5 million plays of their current songs; sold over 8.5 million copies of their current albums; sold over 21 million individual downloads of their current singles; and topped both the touring and charts, proving themselves to be the top country artists for 2010.
