A country star comes out of the closet and the stars Tweet about the Nashville floods

Well two big news items coming out of Nashville today...one of course being the storms and floods that have hit the area and the devestation that goes with it. Lives lost, homes and possessions destroyed and hitting home for the country music community...The Grand Ol Opry is now under water.

A lot of country stars took to Twitter this weekend to update their fans on how they are faring. Here are some of this weekend's Tweets:

@DierksBentley: my basement....sweet http://twitpic.com/1kc5nr

@BradPaisley: Just saw two girrafes, two elephants, and two rhinos walking down the road toward a HUGE wooden boat. Thinking about followiing them.

@BradPaisley
: On the positive side everyone is safe. On the negative... I think all my road guitar gear, amps, effects, are under 3 ft of river.

@BradPaisley: Not complaining though. Very very thankful to have weathered this. Prayers go out to anyone in these dire situations.

@BradPaisley: By the way my main old fender 68 paisley tele was in my home, dry, and resting comfortably. Thanks for asking. Oh and I'm fine too.

@jodeemessina: Water coming out of house http://twitpic.com/1kocb1 Pool guy says there s MORE water in the house then in the pool. Trying to get to it, cutting through wall, to try and pump out.

@jodeemessina: Heard all our gear was under water. Cant get in to check if its true. Still pumping out house. Tired and waterlogged. Cant wait to sleep

@TerriClarkMusic: I am fighting the urge to get in a boat and go rescue people, its so sad. My basement is flooded- no more home theater.

@TerriClarkMusic: Oh My God- Now the Opry is flooded. This has got to stop. This my friends, is truly all so devastating.

@LBTmusic: We're doing great...thanks for the prayers...we're very lucky...just a lot of damaged gear and guitars.

And the other piece of big news...a country singer has come out of the closet...Chely Wright. She says, "I don't have a memory in my life that doesn't include the dream of making music. I hid everything for my music. Chely has a new book coming out this week, "Like Me." And she has a CD coming out too -- called "Lifted Off the Ground." She is best remembered for her big hit "Single White Female." She was also named Academy of Country Music new artist of the year in 1999. She is the first major country artist ever to come out. She has been romantically linked to a number of celebs, including Brad Paisley. Word has it that she will tell the real story of this romance in her new book. You can hear more from Chely when she appears on the Today show this Wednesday and read more on www.people.com
