Wooden teeth? Gold Grill? Choices Choices

So I finally sucked it up and went to the dentist today for a cleaning. It's not the cleaning that's so bad, it's the news that always comes with it. Because something bad always seems to follow. This time it was the dentist telling me that my fillings all need replacing. I've had a lot in my lifetime, I chalk it up to bad genes because I swear I brush my teeth all the time! So that's like 10 fillings that need replacing and I'm trying not to think of the pain involved...not only for my mouth but my wallet too.

At least I could laugh over one thing though. As a new patient to this dentist I had to fill out a million forms. One being a questionnaire who's very last question was, "Do you want to keep all of your teeth for the rest of your life?" Circle yes or no.

Um, who would actually say no to that? I mean I kinda wanted to just to mess with them and say No, I think I'd like to look into some wooden teeth. Or maybe bling it up a bit with a gold grill. Think I could pull off that look? Lol

Saving it wherever we can

So my dad handed over a check this weekend for the wedding. Actually I had to pry it out of his hands lol.

We're paying for about half and he's paying for the other half. Needless to say we've been trying to save money wherever possible, making our own invitations, programs, favors, etc. I'm really sick of printing things!

But my dad still thinks we should cut back somewhere...so we did. We didn't send a response card with invitations to our parents and the bridal party. We know they're coming so why waste the stamp? So when he complained about not getting a response card I was able to say...see Dad, I was just trying to save you money. You can subtract 42 cents from that check now :)

I learned it from watching you!

Remember that commercial back in the 80s about drug use? Well I think if my cat could talk...he would say that about me. Not about drug use, of course, but about learning how to be lazy by watching me!

I mean they say pets resemble their owners right...and what does he see "mommy" do all day? Sit on the couch and watch tv lol. So I guess I only have myself to blame that vet told us yesterday that he gained a pound this past year and needs to go on a diet to make sure he doesn't get any bigger.

So it's either diet kitty food or we may have to revisit Brian's idea of "dogifying" them. Getting them on a leash and harness and taking them for a power walk around Mt Trashmore to peel off the pounds.

So don't laugh if you see two people trying to walk some cats this weekend!

Bathing Suit Shopping

Three words that I dread...bathing suit shopping. I've avoided going for the last few years and stuck with my tried but true older one that covers what needs to be covered. But with the honeymoon approaching and the thought of spending a week on a tropical beach, I figured it was time to at least expand my collection to one or two more.

So Brian and I went to Kohls this weekend both looking for new suits. He went first, grabbed 4 or 5, tried them all on in like 10 minutes said yeah they're all ok, I'll get these two and that was it.

Me...an hour was spent in the dressing room trying them on...Turning around and wondering what in the world was going on with my backside....Sitting in them to see how my thighs would look...Laying in them to see how my stomach would look...and Bending over in them to make sure everything stayed in it's place!

At this point I told Brian I wish we had decided to go to Alaska, Antarctica...anywhere that I could have been covered from head to toe! Probably wouldn't have been a very fun trip I suppose...but then again neither is a trip to the store for bathing suit shop :)
