What's in a name...a lot obviously!

There are many different ways to describe my job. I'm a DJ...to be more specific the Evening DJ. Now there are other ways to describe my job title...like Evening Air Talent, Evening Jock or Evening Personality. I normally never say the last one because, well, it just sounds a little funny if you catch my drift.

Yesterday though I was sick, had a fever of 101 and not just your ordinary sore throat. So I headed to Patient First. After waiting 2 hours, I was filling out some patient forms and without thinking put "Evening Personality" as my job title.

I blame the fever.

Because a little while later when I finally got to see a doctor...he walked in and actually asked me, "Are you a lady of the night?"

Note to self...NEVER say I'm an evening personality again! I'm sticking with plain 'ol DJ.

An impossible feat?

I was watching Cash Cab today on the Discovery Channel and during a commercial break they aired a promotional spot showing people trying to lick their elbows and laughing because they said "It's Impossible to Lick Your Elbow."

I guess we were supposed to be "discover" this fact with their commercial. Well Discovery Channel...you are wrong!

I can lick my elbow. Now, normally I wouldn't admit to this, or actually show off this um, talent, in public. But for the sake of proving that it is NOT impossible...see for yourselves.

Everything Comes Back Around

The last few years I've noticed things from my childhood are coming back around. Like Strawberry Shortcake toys in stores and my 5 year old niece playing with my sister's old My Little Ponies.

One thing I never thought would come back though...jelly shoes. If you're a child of the 80's like me, you'll remember them. I used to rock them wearing my neon colored leggings and my sweatshirt that had a puffy tiger on it...fake fur and all.

But with all of the ugly shoes in the world...crocs and uggs...I thought we'd never see the likes of jelly shoes again. I was wrong.

Walked into a store this weekend and to my horror saw stacks of these:

They're baaaack! My only hope is that they were at least in the clearance section so maybe others realize that these should NOT be worn by adults.

What trend do you wish would go out of style? Or never come back?
