No surprises here

So my family is incapable of surprising each other with gifts. Whenever my birthday or Christmas rolls around I know just what I'm getting. Either because my mother asks for gift ideas, I tell her and then she forgets or looses where she wrote it down and I have to tell her again...and again...and again. Until I'm at the point where I don't even want it anymore.

Or it's an accident, like my sister spilling the beans today on one Christmas gift I have coming without meaning to.

Or worst of aunt. She told me a few weeks ago that she was getting me a wedding present and that "It's a picture frame and I have a gift bag too so I'll just put it in there and give it to you." Um ok...thanks. Should I act surprised now when I open it? A picture frame? Wow, I would have never guessed.

Next year I think I have a plan though. I'm going to buy all of my own gifts, wrap them myself and put them under the tree for me. Then when I open them everyone else can be surprised over what they got me "Wow I got you a Wii? I was generous this year" :)
